Do I need a professional or can I do it myself?

The products available to the public are usually less strength to the professional product. For small pest problems, a supermarket pesticide can oftentimes be effective. For a bigger infestation, Green Shield Pest Control will have up to date information and products to treat your infestation.

Does the spray safe for kids and pets?

The Chemical used for general pest control are safest chemicals available to us at the time of treatment. The chemicals used are likened to the toxicity of table salt and no odour. We use the same chemicals in child care centres, nursing homes and hospitals.

Do I need to prepare anything before my treatment?

You don’t have to do any preparation before you get a general pest treatment done in your home. However we do recommend that any pet food and water bowls are removed prior to treatment and cleaned after treatment.

Which areas will be treated?

We will treat all skirting areas, in the roof cavity and under house were access can be gained. We also special treat Kitchen area for cockroaches. Externally we treat all window and door frames, eaves, garden beds, pathways, fence line, garages and sheds, any other outbuildings including the kids’ cubby.

How long do we vacate?

The vacating period will differ depending on the type of treatment you’re having.

A rodent treatment incurrs no vacating period, in the case of a general pest treatment, eg: spiders, ants and other crawling insects, the vacating period is between 2-4 hours.

Generally 2 hours is sufficient, however if you have any children under 12 months, any asthmatics living in the home, or anyone with a heart condition, the vacating period is 4 hours.

The vacating period for a termite treatment will be between 8- 24 hours. You will be given an exact vacating period at the time of your booking.
